The significance of salary

An appropriate and encouraging salary scheme is an essential part of an equal, open and fair working community. We pay our employees based on the demanding nature of their tasks, and most of us are included in the scope of an incentive scheme which is based on performance and results.


Observance of collective agreements, annual revisions of salaries and equal salaries are self-evident to us. Our versatile employee benefits (such as healthcare, well-being, recreation and leisure benefits) are available for all employees, regardless of their position.


The salary must seem good and proper both for the recipient and for the payer but the paycheck should not be the most important reason for working.

Individual development

We believe that each person is his or her best manager as long as he/she is offered the opportunities and support required. This is why each employee of Neste Oil is responsible for his or her own performance, development and career. But not alone, though: the supervisors are there to assist and support the good performance of their team members.


Each of us draws up an annual development plan with the supervisor. The plan includes short-term development objectives and future career goals. Our development means include, for example, job rotation, working abroad, taking on responsibility for projects, networking, mentoring and coaching. Development and interest are also supported by a variety of training programs and coaching activities offered by us and our partners.

Job rotation

When a single company includes production units, an engineering office, an R&D unit, a shipping unit, global sales, retail sales and administrative positions - and also practices encouraging training, experiments and development - there are excellent opportunities for versatile and varying job rotation.
